A new, supporter-led organisation has officially been launched to represent the views, concerns and ambitions of Bristol Rovers fans: the Bristol Rovers Independent Supporters Association (BRISA).

Formed out of the grassroots Speak Up or Sell Up campaign, BRISA exists to provide a clear, collective and independent voice for Gasheads at a crucial moment in the club’s history. The association is built from the bottom up, with accountability, transparency and democratic decision‑making at its core – ensuring the power sits firmly with supporters themselves, not imposed from above.

Clear priorities for the club’s long-term future

At the heart of BRISA’s launch is a set of supporter‑defined priorities that outline what many believe are the minimum standards required to protect Bristol Rovers’ long‑term future. These priorities are not ultimatums, but reasonable expectations focused on direction, transparency and responsibility.

Key areas of focus include:

- A clear long-term vision for the stadium and the future of the Memorial Stadium, including realistic timelines, progress updates and alternative options if plans change.
- Open and genuine communication from ownership, with strategic updates that go beyond automated or generic statements.

- Acknowledgement of responsibility following on‑field failures, including a clear explanation of what went wrong and what lessons have been learned.

- A coherent, long-term football strategy, rather than short‑term fixes or isolated appointments.

- Financial clarity and transparency*, covering playing budgets, investment levels and the ownership’s ability to fund long‑term ambitions, including infrastructure projects.

Each priority has been assessed against recent communication from the club, allowing supporters to clearly see what has been addressed, what remains unclear and what still requires action.

Open, inclusive and supporter‑led

BRISA is open to all Bristol Rovers supporters, with free membership and the opportunity to contribute ideas, help shape priorities and vote on key issues as the association develops. The group is run by volunteers – ordinary Gasheads who care deeply about the club and want to see meaningful progress underpinned by transparency and accountability.
