I’m a lifelong Gashead ,born in Southmead, raised in Nailsea and now living in Wrington, North Somerset, I’m 3rd generation gas with a son following my footsteps and daughter still unsure !
Having had 45+ years of following Rovers at Eastville, Twerton and The Mem and over 75 away grounds watching Rovers, I have witnessed the ups and downs, the many new stadiums projects.
I have always shown interest in the Governance of the club, but I always try to be fair with any criticism and show respect.
For me communication is the key, alongside transparency, as a fan base we deserve to be kept in the loop wherever possible and this is something I believe an independent supporters association can fight for.
I’m sure I am not alone in being worried about the future of the club I love, (many fans of other clubs no doubt feel the same) .The official supporters club do a great job providing away coaches and so much more but I feel an independent voice would be extremely useful and witnessed how well it works at other clubs .
I have decided to pitch in and help with this independent supporters association having seen and read the great ideas and wide ranging views of it’s founders.
